The boys in Room 5 have been busy bakers of brilliant ideas – and we’re so proud to share the results! Over the past few weeks, they’ve worked incredibly hard writing, editing, and polishing their very own book all about their favourite desserts. 🍦🍫🎂

From brainstorming to final drafts, the effort and creativity they poured into every page was inspiring. And now… their work has been professionally published and it looks amazing! 👏

Well done, boys – your sweet stories have truly come to life. We couldn’t be prouder! 💙📖

Yesterday we celebrated a very special milestone in Bishop Foley School as we said goodbye to our wonderful 6th Class boys on their final day. 💙

We were delighted to welcome parents and guardians into the school to join us in cheering them on. The day was filled with heartfelt speeches, beautiful songs, and proud moments as each boy received a certificate and gift from their class teachers, Mr. Hogan and Mr. Kelly, alongside our Principal, Mr. Kelly.

We are so proud of our boys – their hard work, spirit, and friendship have left a lasting mark on our school. 

Wishing each and every one of them the very best as they begin this exciting new chapter. 🌟

What a way to kick off the final week of the school year! Today’s Teachers v 6th Class Rounders game was full of energy, laughter, and some seriously competitive spirit 😅💪

Both sides gave it their all – there were epic catches, big hits, and lots of cheers from the sidelines!

Well done to everyone who took part and made it such a brilliant (and hilarious!) match. A highlight of an unforgettable year! 🎓✨

As part of Active Week, our soccer finals took place on Friday, bringing the week to an exciting close! Medals were presented to the winners during Assembly later that day — a fantastic way to celebrate all the energy, effort, and teamwork on display. 🙌🎉

We had an amazing time last Thursday making the most of the sunshine and getting stuck into some classic sports day fun — sack races, three-legged races, penalty shoot-outs, egg 'n spoon, relays, and running races galore! 💨🔥

A huge thank you to James Clarke for running such brilliant GAA Football coaching sessions — the boys had a blast and learned so much! 👏🙌

The boys played their hearts out, showed incredible determination, and represented our school with pride, passion, and great sportsmanship. 💪💙❤️

We made the most of the sunshine today with the whole school getting out and getting active!

2nd to 4th Classes headed to the Hurling Club for a fantastic Soccer Blitz – full of energy, teamwork, and great sportsmanship. The excitement is building as we look forward to the final on Friday morning! ⚽🏆

Meanwhile, 5th & 6th Class enjoyed an amazing hockey coaching session with Justine Collins and her fellow coaches from @carlowhockeyclub A huge thank you to them for introducing the boys to the sport and sharing their time and expertise – what a great way to learn new skills! 🏑👏

📚✨ 4th Class at The Exchange! ✨📚 Today, 📚✨ 4th Class at The Exchange! ✨📚

Today, our 3rd and 4th Classes took a magical trip to The Exchange for a wonderful storytelling session as part of Libraries Ireland’s Summer Stars Reading Programme. 🌟

The boys were a captivated audience - listening intently, asking brilliant questions, and actively joining in to bring the stories to life. 🎤🗣️ Their imagination and enthusiasm were on full display!

Summer Stars is Ireland’s national summer reading programme for children, running from the start of June to the end of August. It invites children all across the country to discover the fun and joy of reading and writing during the summer months. 📖✍️

It’s a non-competitive, completely free programme - and every child who reads even one book or e-book is considered to have completed it. A brilliant way to spark a love of stories and learning!

🎉 Day 2 of Active Week = Another Winner! 🏆💪

Our second day was packed with energy, teamwork and serious fun!

🏀 2nd-4th Class had a ball (literally!) learning Basketball skills with Mr. Homan - lots of laughs, energy and creative games on court!

⚾ 5th Class took their talents to the Hurling Club where they impressed visiting pupils from France with a fantastic Rounders demonstration. A great cultural and sporting exchange! 🇫🇷🤝🇮🇪

🚣‍♂️ 6th Class showed true grit in a high-energy Rowing session with Stephen and Olivia from @carlowyouth They were competitive, determined and gave it their all!

Massive thanks to all the visiting coaches for their time and energy!

Room 5 took a step back in time last week at @carl Room 5 took a step back in time last week at @carlowcountymuseum! 🏛️🕰️

The boys had a brilliant day exploring Carlow’s rich history, getting up close with artefacts from old shops and factories, and even diving into the story of Carlow Jail 🔍🏭

They were full of curiosity, asking thoughtful and interesting questions throughout the visit - a credit to their enthusiasm for learning! 🙌👏

A big thank you to the museum team for such an engaging experience!

We kicked things off today with a Sports General Knowledge Table Quiz 🧠🎉 – testing our minds before getting ourselves moving!

Our 5th and 6th classes took to the pitch for their Soccer Blitz, with some brilliant matches played. The final showdown will be on Thursday – we can't wait to see who takes the win! 🏆

Meanwhile, Ms. Brennan's class made the most of the sunshine with a fun game of rounders in the fresh air! ☀️🥎

The weather was amazing and we’re excited for even more activity, teamwork, and fun throughout the week. Let’s keep it going! 💪🌿
